Insurance Reserve

The system relies on ETH collateral to collateralize borrow positions. ETH collateral is over-collateralized at 130%.

While the system expects to generate a profit via liquidations, there may be times when liquidations are unprofitable. In this case, an insurance reserve, owned by the protocol, may attempt to cover losses to ensure solvency.
